Les Petites Maisons 4* Hotel & Spa in Baux de Provence

The art

Au Hameau des Baux

Welcoming art

unexpectedly...

Art is everywhere at Le Hameau des Baux, all year round. Our philosophy at Le Hameau des Baux is to offer our customers a friendly, no-holds-barred approach to contemporary art, where we dare to ask questions and observe with more than just our hands behind our backs.

Le Hameau des Baux is giving Carte Blanche to Fisheye Gallery, based in Arles and Paris. Specializing in contemporary photography, Fisheye Gallery aims to set itself apart by offering an uninhibited, emerging international program. It assumes its role as a pioneer of new photographic writing at major European fairs, as well as in front of public institutions and players in the photography world.

Common areas

an exhibition space open to all

The artistic experience continues in the hotel's common spaces, which host exhibitions several times a year. Thanks to Constance Breton, artistic director and curator, contemporary art is invited to Le Hameau des Baux, with artists in residence (this summer the hotel is hosting Fisheye Gallery), an Actes Sud bookshop in the lobby, and playlists by artist Samuel Boutruche throughout the day.

Carte Blanche

Fisheye Gallery

The "Rencontre avec la matière" exhibition brings together six visual artists: Léa Habourdin, Ilanit Illouz, Almudena Romero, Laure Winants, Juliette Alhmah and Tamaki Yoshida. Each in her own way takes hold of the photographic medium to evoke the future of our environment.
Volcanic, saline, chlorophyll-, shampoo- or natural-pigment-based prints, film stripped of its antihalation coating, the prints of these six artists never cease to challenge us on the climate crisis, while questioning the status of the artist and his or her environmental footprint.

Come and discover these works at the Hameau des Baux from June 30, 2024 and escape into this inspiring environment.

Artistic ode to nature

in the privacy of your room

Art is also present in the rooms of Le Hameau des Baux, with the hotel's private collection of limited editions and original works of art scattered throughout each room. Some fifty works in all, each telling a story related to nature and its attributes in a humorous or poetic way.

Contemplate, be inspired,

listen ...

Sound bubbles are orchestrated by artist Samuel Boutruche. Depending on the space and time of day, he creates a variety of playlists ranging from confidential to pop, mixing contemporary and classical, making the choice of sound as demanding as the quality of the food and the refined comfort of the hotel.

Driven by a desiré to support young contemporary creation, the hotel will open a multi-disciplinary artists' residency at the end of the summer. Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video... all practices are welcome. A common source of inspiration - nature and the surrounding places of the Hameau des Baux - federates the work realized́ within the residence.
